For local history, see Hemet, California as the two cities share a great deal of commonality. The San Jacinto Earthquake of 1899 was named for the possible epicenter (San Jacinto Fault) of the 7.0 richter scale tremor, happened on Christmas day (Dec. 25). The accredited Mount San Jacinto College, a junior college is located in the city. 207.200.116.134 22:48, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm surprised there's no mention of the Mission and Rancho periods in this article. San Jacinto was an important part of the Spanish/Mexican missions. Helen Hunt Jackson spent time in the San Jacinto Valley before she wrote her novel Ramona, and while Hemet likes to claim all the Ramona fame, it was the area that became the Soboba Reservation where Jackson visited. I grew up in San Jacinto, and I wrote my senior history thesis on the Missions in the (now) northern San Diego County and Riverside County area. I guess I'll have to dust off my research and update the article. VUIvangelist (talk) 06:37, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"The City of San Jacinto is seeing a mass move"

[edit]

From the Demographics section:

The City of San Jacinto is seeing a mass move to the San Jacinto Valley (see Hemet and Valle Vista). As of the 2006-2007 Annual Report, released Fall 2007, the population has grown to 34,345. There is an expected population growth of 45,000 by 2010.

So the entire City of San Jacinto is moving? And I should see Hemet and Valle Vista because the entire city is moving to Hemet and Valle Vista? Meanwhile, despite the fact that the entire city is moving to Hemet and Valle Vista, San Jacinto has nevertheless grown from who-knows-what-figure to 34,345 and, according to the crystal ball from which the who-cares-who-published-it 2006-07 Annual Report was researched, will grow to 45,000, all of whom will be required to move to Hemet and Valle Vista by the City-mandated relocation program? Am I understanding that paragraph correctly? Michael Patrick (talk) 20:10, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Economy

This article needs an Economy section along with a listing of the top 10 employers --142.136.94.102 (talk) 20:40, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Do you know a good source for this information?—Stepheng3 (talk) 20:48, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Retail sales seem to be the common denominator. So far I've found a few website with minimal information, examples: --172.250.226.251 (talk) 16:47, 12 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
