Crab vs Carp

[edit]

Apparently editors of the Barracuda-class submarine articles have got at least some of the information on the K-276 Crab and the K-239 Carp crossed up. For instance, it is the Crab that was launched in 1986 and is still in commission (according to the Russian Wikipedia and other sources) and the Carp that was launched in 1983 and is no longer in commission. These dates had been switched in the articles.

Not being a submarine expert, I don't know what else in these articles has been switched. And there is no Russian Wikipedia article on the Carp. Further confusing the issue, some intelligences sources apparently thought it was the Carp involved in the Submarine incident off Kildin island, whereas it was actually the Crab.

And the Crab was later renamed "Kostromo". The Carp article had stated that the Carp had formerly been named "Kostromo".

Anyway, I hope I have this all correct now. Herostratus (talk) 05:25, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
