dab template

[edit]

I've restored the dab template to this page... don't know why or when in the long history of the page it was removed, but I can't think of any good reason, and none was noted here. Comments welcome of course. Andrewa 17:37, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rationale behind move

[edit]

I guess being bold has gone out the window on Wikipedia. Everything needs discussion and approval? Anyways, the term Route 66 is synonymous with the historic US route, and other Route 66's are very minor. The second most significant use is a song which is written about the highway, further signifying its significance. This is one of the few highways that is undoubtedly a WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. - ʄɭoʏɗiaɲ τ ¢ 16:43, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. The former US Highway is still known as Route 66 in popular culture, and it the subject of many travel books. A comment above on this page further amplifies the Route 66 = US 66 connection. Route 66 should redirect to U.S. Route 66, and the content of Route 66 should be moved to Route 66 (disambiguation), with the appropriate hatnotes added.
