Article restructure

[edit]

I restructured the article a bit, mostly the section 'Prominent examples of random number generator security issues'. Since the article is called 'Random number generator attack, 'Prominent examples' should be sufficient for that section. I created subsections for each example for clarity. 2pem (talk) 15:24, 15 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally, I put the 'attacks' and 'defenses' section at the top, followed by the examples. This was reversed before. 2pem (talk) 11:28, 16 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Windows RNG for Win10 and later

[edit]

Niels Ferguson published the CRNG approach used in Windows 10 and later (all currently supported versions). The URL to the documentation is here - https://download.microsoft.com/download/1/c/9/1c9813b8-089c-4fef-b2ad-ad80e79403ba/Whitepaper%20-%20The%20Windows%2010%20random%20number%20generation%20infrastructure.pdf#:~:text=The%20Windows%2010%20random%20number%20generation%20infrastructure%20Niels%20Ferguson%20Published:

Note that it complies with NIST 800-90A

The current text of the article would leave the reader possibly thinking that current versions have a bad RNG. 50.34.209.75 (talk) 01:58, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
