Removal of information

[edit]

Any information that is specific to Great Missenden without having any relevance to Prestwood should go in the Great Missenden article. Some information has been removed because it violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view. Also Prestwood is not the nearest village to Chequers: that distinction is shared by Ellesborough or Dunsmore. -- Francs2000 17:04, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Miss Trunchbull - Prestwood infant school?

[edit]

I've just come across this article and I'm fascinated by the claim that the character Miss Trunchbull form Roald Dahl's book Matilda, is modelled on an old headmistress from Prestwood Infant School.

I attended this school and the headmistress at the time was Mrs Morgan...........is this who you mean? Memory suggests that there's a good chance it might be!

Industry

[edit]

Yes, this is a comical section, isn't it?

Prestwood's economy has moved to "health centres and hairdressers". Indeed.

Is Prestwood now the hairdressing capital of Buckinghamshire?

Or is it - and let's be honest - just another boring dormitory for London? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.150.105.139 (talk) 19:00, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I dunno, you can say this for any town around London... I guess people don't see much profit in setting up a nightclub in these parts XD The town I live in now has a lot of coffee shops, and charity shops, and that's about it. :) --86.5.226.63 (talk) 00:49, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
