Merge
[edit]- Agree we should merge the textile parts of ply into plying (and perhaps make ply a disambiguation page? - PKM 21:25, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

I still like the idea of having the textile parts of ply at plying- the rest of the textile processes tend to use the gerund- spinning, weaving, carding, etc. Anyone object to me putting it there? Loggie (talk) 19:14, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Directions for article expansion
[edit]1) Explain difference between a ply and a laminate. I.e., that some ply is a laminate.
2) Toilet paper article is clearer about difference between one-ply and two-ply.
3) The noun ply has five main senses in the OED -- from a quick look it appears that the nautical verb "ply" has been confused as being a noun in this article.
