NNPOV Problems

[edit]

I'm not a big fan of Fiacco myself, but the NNPOV issues with this article are now approaching libel, particularly when you start talking about Fiacco being "turned away" from political parties for making "unreasonable demands". Given that we're in a run-up to the next election this is not surprising. Nonetheless, I'm reverting some of the recent edits back to the original text, which while uncited at least does not approach libel. 64.110.213.33 can put them back, WITH citations if he/she has them. It appears that some recent edits to the page seem to have an agenda of their own to produce negative perspectives without any consideration for documentation. What happened to making an article without a POV? I realize that not everyone will agree with everyone else, but please have specific documentation when making a claim or it will be removed or rewritten. Also, keep in mind that this is an encyclopedic type of publication when adding information, and not everything belongs in an encyclopedia. Friesguy 17:55, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reformat and reverts

[edit]

Please refrain from reverts, I have cleaned up the article and everything is sourced or will be soon. If you have issues , please discuss. --206.163.235.114 02:56, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What do you man by "soon"? Still no sources cited. --Kmsiever 20:13, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

article needs work: format and POV issues

[edit]

The time-line format is generally not followed in biography articles and does not help us to understand anything in particular. I suggest changing the format so that it appears as a biographic article. Also, the article remains highly POV....Mumun 無文 13:57, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I made a bunch of changes. Most of the criticisms still need references, however. As well, the article still needs more biographical information and should probably have an "accomplishments" section to balance out the criticisms. --Kmsiever 15:33, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Added two infoboxes, sources, information from the City of Regina website, and from articles about boxing, and film which involve Pat Fiacco. SriMesh | talk 02:15, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Priorities

[edit]

Section about priorities as mayor moved to talk. Is a list of priorities appropriate? Should it be prose instead? Is it properly sourced? RJFJR (talk) 16:11, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Promoting Regina as Canada's Greatest City through the 'I Love Regina' campaign.
  • The Mayor's Task Force on Regina's Future brings together 20 different community organizations [including the Regina Regional Economic Development Authority and United Way Regina] to improve social, community and economic development.
  • Chair of the Regina Board of Police Commissioners, Pat Fiacco and its board members have been targeting crime reduction by introducing a greater police presence with more police officers in the communities.[1]
  • Also as Chair of the Big City Mayor's Caucus, Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM), Pat Fiacco addresses Regina's infrastructure upgrades and improvements. Two initiatives he has been involved with are the Federal Gas Tax, the Highway #1 and Lewvan Drive Interchange.
  • The Ipsco Place infrastructure renewal.[1]
  • The Regina Youth Advisory Council (RYAC). It may help to reinforce and increase social and economic development, particularity focusing educating the youth of Regina on civic issues.[1]
  • A concern shared between the Regina City Council, Regina Inner City Community Partnership and corporate sponsors are to revitalize Regina's inner city and down town core area.[1] Though very little investment has been done by the City of Regina, itself.

Birthdate

[edit]

At some point in early 2022, an anonymous IP added an unsourced birthdate of December 27, 1962, and since then other anonymous IPs have made unsourced changes to reflect a birthdate of May 6, 1962 (or possibly June 5, if they were trying for DMY instead of MDY for some reason.) But since none of this has been reliably sourced at all, just a reminder that we cannot include any exact birthdate for him at all if we can't find the sourcing to support one.
