Name

[edit]

Anyone know where the name "Parsippany" comes from? Is it Native American? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rojomoke (talkcontribs) 13:45, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I remember from Boy Scouts and local history Parsippany comes from the language of the indigenous Native Americans called the Lenne Lenape. The area now known as Parsippany was known as Parsippanong, meaning the place where rivers come together. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.89.105.128 (talk) 20:54, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
