Notability

[edit]

The centre is independently notable as these sources show: Belfast Telegraph[1], The Guardian[2] and the NME[3]. It would be useful if someone could work these sources into the article to establish notability. --JD554 (talk) 17:47, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Added bits and pieces, is notability established for now? Suede67 (talk) 18:33, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I would think so, it now has multiple independent reliable sources which dicsuss the centre in detail. That's the requirement of the general notability guidelines. --JD554 (talk) 18:39, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Phew, thanks for the refs JD. Suede67 (talk) 18:44, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Further reasons which speaking against this remove are:

  • On the site Belfast is listed the Oh Yeah Belfast Centre as cultural venue.
  • Notable bands that centre supports and by which they published music on compilations are Cashier No 9, Panama Kings, In Case of Fire and General Fiasco (all bands which have the state of well known and growing Indie-/Alternative Bands)
  • Snow Patrol's singer Gary Lightbody is one of the founder of the Oh Yeah Belfast (Patronage)
  • Oh Yeah Belfast makes regularly exhibitions around the themes of Northern Irish famous musicians like Van Morrison, Ash or Snow Patrol --/~~ whoever99 17:50, 13 July 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Whoever99 (talkcontribs)
None of those establish notability unless they are supported by reliable sources. --JD554 (talk) 18:01, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
