Achievements section

[edit]

This was previously the second paragraph of the lead. After looking at it more closely I felt that the only choice was to remove it entirely. First, the paragraph contradicted itself multiple times, giving different percentages and statistics for the same measurement. Second, it contained a number of sentences that ere nothing but puffery (phrases like "always bagged the top marks" and "did us proud" have no business in any WP article). Third, and most importantly, the section was entirely unsourced. Many of the claims were highly extraordinary (like a passage rate of 100% on some exams, or have 6 of the top 10 examinees on some test in some undisclosed year). This information must be cited. If any of those details can be verified by reliable sources, they can be re-added, but without such sources I can't even guess how to rewrite the paragraph to make it correct and neutral. Adding a image to the article

[edit]

Hi! I'm new to the Wikipedia talk page. I frequently edit articles on Wikipedia generally related to colleges in Mumbai. I have a image that I wanted to add in this article, which is frequently removed by the admin. I can help to make this article better. Please feel free to leave a message. Blackzamasu69, Looking at your Wikimedia Commons page here you have been blocked at Commons for repeatedly uploading copyright images, despite numerous warnings.
It may, or may not, be possible to help you - to start with some basic questions:-
  1. What image do you want to add?
  2. Where is it at the moment?
  3. If it is a photo, is it of the actual object/person, not a picture of the object/person?
  4. Did you take the photo yourself?

Those are not copyright images. I had downloaded the image from the college website and made a few modifications. 1. College logo, college building, college library, etc. 2. Its available on college website, but I already have an achieve on my device. 3. Yes, and the achieve images are from reliable sources. 4. No, but I have made few alterations. Blackzamasu69 - It seems you do not understand the meaning of copyright.
if you "downloaded the image from the college website" it is copyright - I see no copyleft or other copyright release licensing on the college website.
We can probably add the college logo, under a claim of fair-use, but none of the photos. - Arjayay (talk) 19:15, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
