Cell phone

[edit]

I'm curious as to whether her cell phone was found. I've seen news reports that it was, but I can't find any source for that information aside from Without Warning. All of the sources that had information about the phone were just quoting Without Warning, whose information appears to be somewhat in dispute. I suspect they probably did find it, but I'd like to get some corroboration on this. Bali88 (talk) 21:22, 27 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Missing White Woman Syndrome

[edit]

Clean up on isle five. I've removed all of the ideological crap but someone needs to remove the reference to the kosher hate speech link as a source. Is it too much to ask that we not turn the murder of a young woman into a soap box for anti-white hate mongers? Would you tolerate it from Neo Nazis talking about bankers and referring the public to a link that was nothing more than and online copy of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion? The accused and most probably guilty of this murder in particular are white, but this brand of bile spewing is driven by ideologues that don't want people to notice that many of these kidnapping/rape/murders don't always come from those who's faces you can show as a villain without worrying about lawsuits, boycotts or at the very least, being made to go on an apology tour. Blacks are responsible for just as many rape/murder/kidnappings when taking into consideration the percentage of their population compared to the percentage of said crimes committed. Way more, actually. And many against white girls, many disappear and if they're found, it's not becoming very uncommon to find them in a friggin heroin den surrounded by blacks that won't let them leave. No wonder they don't want us focusing on white girls too much, it might show the public who the real aggressors really are! The content of their collective character, if you will. I shouldn't have to write this, this should be common sense. And the sneaky way the source was slipped in there, go back and look at the log. And this is what you're reduced to, using a tragedy to promote more white guilt. When has any other race given a damn about us? As if we should all relate to entire communities that make it clear every time they open their mouths how much they hate and resent us. Everyone shows selective outrage, but when one side does it, like "stop BLACK on BLACk" crime...pretty clear, says you can do what ever to whoever else but blacks are off limits! You should only have your right to post your anti-whie garbage here under the category of ideology. And I'm sure you'll get more leeway than white nationalism, which will be written by a biased staff. I'm obviously sympathetic to that "cause," and it's completely lost in America. I don't much feel like defending it since years of experience has left me jaded and just as hateful toward them as it has toward whoever slipped in the "Missing White Woman" guilt conditioning. I'm just using white nationalism as an example. There's a place for all of it, but keep it off this page. Your right to speech is my right to speech. But this girl, her family and her friends aren't responsible for whatever slights the black community feels it's received. And watch carefully, watch how when whites take these white suspect to court and grill them and find them guilty, how harshly we punish them. Unlike blacks who hide their violent criminals, proclaim them innocent despite mountains of evidence to the contrary and openly JUMP FOR JOY (O.J.) when an obvious murderer gets off for no other reason than it was only a white girl who was the victim. I wasn't born racist, but this kind of crap made me one. I was raised by liberal hippie dippy rainbow coalition types...but with decades of things like this being rubbed in my face, God forgive me, I'm seeing crooked crosses.

It might help if you actually understood the topic you are talking about before talking about it and removing a link someone else appropriately added to the article. Missing White Woman Syndrome had nothing to do with the race of the perpetrators of any crime and your entire rant is just one long, irrelevant, racist whine. MWWS specifically refers to the extensive media coverage given whenever young, attractive white women are missing as compared to the relatively low amount of media coverage given whenever anyone else is missing. That's the definition and it is definitely relevant to this case.Kdb1965 (talk) 04:57, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure if this is the right place for this but I attempted to read the source links from the story and many lead to 'page not found'.

Why?

[edit]

Why was the title changed from Murder of Holly Bobo to Holly Bobo murder case? I see in the history the reason given is "The killing is not murder until a trier of fact says so; however, since several defendants are facing charges we can call it a murder case". Yet the following is in the first paragraph- "In September 2014, her remains were found in northern Decatur County, Tennessee, and her death was ruled a homicide". If the TBI stated Bobo was a victim of homocide, that would mean someone had to murder her. The title should be changed back to Murder of Holly Bobo. 2601:483:100:CB54:74C5:D574:4F52:C186 (talk) 17:16, 2 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I don't think there was any good reason to do that and if there was, there should've been a discussion on the talk page first. If we have consensus, we can change it back. I know some cases have been renamed when the article is mainly focused on the legal side of it (like Kirsten Blaise Lobato), but I see no reason to distinguish Holly Bobo Murder Case from Murder of Holly Bobo. We can give it a few days to see if anyone has any objections then change it back. Bali88 (talk) 19:54, 2 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Why was Holly Bobo murdered?

[edit]

This article is currently a good article nominee, yet fails to answer one of the most important questions that everyone has wondered since the day that she was kidnapped: why? Why were these men intent on kidnapping, raping, and murdering this woman in the first place? I haven't seen anything that says. Does anyone know? I remember something about Zach Adams saying that he and those other men had come to their house to teach Clint how to make meth, but there's absolutely no proof that he didn't just make that up.JUDAS MAIDEN (talk) 05:56, 2 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The prosecution alleged that it was a rape motive, but aside from testimony from Jason Autry, we don't have anything solid. Very little of her remains were recovered and there was no forensic evidence that could say either way. Bali88 (talk)
Maybe I missed it, but if that's true, and its in the sources, it should probably be included in the article. Otherwise, I don't support this as a good article. It seems to be missing plenty of other vital information. JUDAS MAIDEN (talk) 04:50, 7 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It is. In the trial section, it says that "Zach, Shayne, and Dylan went to the Bobo residence to teach Clint Bobo to make meth...Holly came out of the home "screaming and hollering" and that's when the men abducted her...The three men are alleged to have raped Holly in a local barn. Should it be more prominent? What other vital information is it lacking?Bali88 (talk)

oral sex

[edit]

Didn't it come out in trial that Jason Autry testified that Dylan Adams gave oral sex to his brother Zach Adams and their friend Shayne Austin right before they killed Holly Bobo.[1] --Meteor — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.110.195.254 (talk) 21:28, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

First names appropriate?

[edit]

The article uses first names in some parts, and last names in others. I think it should stick to one, and that's probably last names? First names seems very inappropriate. -- 79.202.110.26 (talk) 13:27, 28 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
