Fair use rationale for Image:Mdx logo.gif

Image:Mdx logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:42, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Restructuring

Why was the Restructuring part of the Middlesex University article removed without good reason, from what the edit history says it ws removed in a general cleanup of the article, surely the canceling and closure of an entire faculty merits inclusion in the article? Sheep21 6.59am, 17th March

I note your replacement of this section. I still feel that it is now out of date and doesn't belong in the article; universities close and open departments all the time. Even if the consensus is that it should stay, it needs a rewrite (not least to remove POV terms such as "plight"), which I am not personally prepared to do as I (obviously) don't think the section should be there at all. University ratings

(I'm posting this to all articles on UK universities as so far discussion hasn't really taken off on Wikipedia:WikiProject Universities.)

There needs to be a broader convention about which university rankings to include in articles. Currently it seems most pages are listing primarily those that show the institution at its best (or worst in a few cases). See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Universities#University ratings. Why to exlude Times Good University ranking? Yes, Middlesex scores badly, but the ranking has been improving historically! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.109.50.235 (talk) 11:52, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Mistakes

There are two errors in this page that I have noticed. Firstly, Tottenham Campus (my former campus as a Middlesex student) was certainly not based in Wood Green.

The Tottenham Campus was located at on White Hart Lane, a long and mainly residential street in North London which spans from Wood Green to Tottenham High Road. The campus was located at the Tottenham end of the street, which is approximately two miles from Wood Green. The campus was sold off in two stages, Somerset Halls being sold off in 2004 and converted into flats and the remaining parts of the campus closed and sold in 2005. Although Middlesex has never stated the area's high crime rate as being the main reason for the closure of Tottenham Campus, it is widely believed to be the case among former students as the facilities and social scene were markedly better than many of Middlesex's other sites at that time.

There was, however, a student residence based in Wood Green but this was not part of any other campus and no lectures took place there. There was also a campus in Bounds Green, an area a little to the North of Wood Green but this closed in 2002 and the courses taught there moved to the Tottenham Campus.

Secondly, I would like to point out that Robbins Halls are not based at the Enfield Campus. It is true that the Campus Accommodation Officer is responsible for them but they are not located anywhere near the campus itself. While a student of Middlesex I arranged to help a friend move to these halls. When we arrived at the Enfield Campus we discovered that the Robbin Halls were so far away that we had to take a bus to get there.

I've removed the bit about the Tottenham campus being in Wood Green. --Lancevortex 20:29, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Robbins Hall was a short walk from the main campus - about 10-15 minutes. It was one I made regularly. MarwoodChap (talk) 22:15, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
