Dublins major regional paper

Dublins major regional paper... eh lads, the Heldeld, anyone? --Kiand 23:39, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Ireland has freedom of the press enshrined in its constitution

Currently that article says "Ireland has freedom of the press enshrined in its constitution." mean? Which Ireland? The Republic? or does that include Northern Ireland as well? As far as I know what is called the British Constitution has no such enshrinement, just a strong tradition. -- PBS (talk) 12:20, 25 November 2011 (UTC)

The proper name of the country is Ireland 122.60.191.150 (talk) 04:03, 5 February 2023 (UTC)

Split proposal

Much like was done last year with Law enforcement in Ireland, this article should be split. All specifics on media of Roi should go in Media of the Republic of Ireland, and all specifics on media in NI should go in Media of Northern Ireland. The remaining Media of Ireland page should be a short DAB page, summing up the media of the two constituent parts, and then have some exposition on the question of shared media between the two countries. --Obi-Wan Kenobi (talk) 21:38, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

Agree with split, leaving this article here as a brief over-view, and summaries in sectins, leaving the new articles to deal with the specific information. Murry1975 (talk) 16:32, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
PS Media in the Republic of Ireland is a re-direct for this article, seems like the article began as state specific and develope into island over time. Murry1975 (talk) 16:36, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
I support the split, because media are not generally organised on an all-Ireland basis. However, this page should be a summary page, not a DAB page, because there are some all-Ireland media issues. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 10:24, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
re summary page, I agree - that's what I meant- details can be kept about all-Ireland media and circulation, Bleed-over of radio/tv signals, etc. --Obi-Wan Kenobi (talk) 13:44, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

Done. More work needed on Media of Ireland now. --Obi-Wan Kenobi (talk) 06:32, 15 April 2013 (UTC)

stuff in lead from Republic of Ireland

The new lead is mostly the corresponding section of Republic of Ireland. However the section there has had the big long list of names removed and it has been left here so it can be moved into the main body in some structured way instead. Dmcq (talk) 20:25, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
