Song Mary Ann (Roaring Lion)

[edit]

In the list item '"Mary Ann" a circa 1945 calypso...' I've fixed the original redlink on Roaring Lion and added a link to the actual article on the song Marianne (Terry Gilkyson song) This makes two links for the item, which is generally deprecated; I hope this exception will stand, both to clarify the confusion of song titles and because the Roaring Lion version came first. However, if other editors find that unacceptable, I suggest deleting the Roaring Lion wikilink, since this dab list is about the song, the Marianne link is the only article about the song, and that article has info & a wikilink re Roaring Lion. I also suggest leaving the Roaring Lion text in place (without the wikilink) to explain the name confusion.

I'm tempted to move the Terry Gilkyson Marianne article to Mary Ann (song), but really the Roaring Lion version is quite obscure, while Marianne was widely popular in its time, so stet. --D Anthony Patriarche, BSc (talk) 22:53, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

On consideration, I've removed the supererogatory wikilink myself (I just wanted to use that word).--D Anthony Patriarche, BSc (talk) 22:43, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
