International Eligibility

Keown played U16 and U18 for England. When it was learnt that both his parents were Irish, Jack Charlton enquired about his availability to play for the Republic of Ireland but found that he was not eligible due to his underage games.[citation needed]

It isn't true that representing one country at underage level makes you ineligible to represent another at senior level. E.G Dominic Matteo was capped at Under 21 for England and Senior level for Scotland —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.149.97.85 (talk) 16:40, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
