Budwitcher

[edit]

Doesn't sound like a real place. Norum 00:17, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

People in a forum suggest it must be one of several places called Budwiecie (in Polish) in the area of Vilkaviškis in present-day Lithuania. Budwitcher is a fairly successful attempt at spelling it phonetically using English language rules. A 19th century geographic encyclopedia lists a total of nine Budwiecies in former Polish lands as well as mentions a few of Budweitschen and Budwethen just across the border in German East Prussia. Not sure where the assumption concerning Vilkaviškis came from, same regarding Budwitcher itself for the matter. Too much original research for now.
