Where is the source?

"She was the first journalist to connect the murders and break the story about the serial killer." This is a big deal—connecting the murders, being the first person to realize there was a serial killer on the loose. But what is the source for this claim? I think this article will be much improved by fleshing out the story behind how and when McLaughlin made the link between the murders. Simply, this claim (and McLaughlin's legacy) would be improved greatly by being accompanied by its supporting evidence. CitizenEx (talk) 21:40, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
