Möhrchen

[edit]

"Möhre" is "carrot", "Hase" is "hare" (not really "rabbit" = "Kaninchen"), "Möhrchen" is diminutive as is "Häschen". Are the English sources that unprecise? "Little carrot" instead of just "carrots" would be a step forwards. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:53, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Gerda Arendt How do you think the article should be fixed? I did more searches and I can see that these are actually called "little hare jokes" so it seems like an article rename is needed also. SL93 (talk) 14:44, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That, and saying at least "little carrots" or whatever English can do to indicate smallness seems a minimum, and those English sources being in the article. "Möhrchen" is almost an invented word, - I'd never use that in normal talk, if not telling a Häschenwitz which I haven't done in decades. Another point the article should make: all this seems history, and I wonder if it's even notable. Viola jokes seem to be perennial ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:49, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Gerda Arendt I figure that this isn't worth my time. I'm just going to withdraw the DYK. SL93 (talk) 15:09, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Understand, sorry if I was the cause for your time wasted. Perhaps worth trying to get the author involved? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:24, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
