Sites in North America

[edit]

I thought it was strange there were none listed, so I made some effort to look up a few. Surprisingly, I have not found any yet: the lists people have made online are all coming through in full resolution for me on Google Maps. Area 51, for example, is bright and clear (and quite boring). jp×g 02:03, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This page, for example -- literally all of the things here in North America are completely visible in high resolution. Particularly inane is the claim that a random building at the Dugway Proving Ground was "whited out" (at 40.18521, -112.92773) when it's... it's a parking lot. it's a parking lot with white concrete. Come on. You can see the tire tracks. This list is stupid. jp×g 02:27, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at these now.
  1. Campeche Bank, Mexico: One of the blurred regions becomes clear when zoomed in, the other remains black. This seems to be some sort of imaging error, but who knows.
  2. 1 Observatory Circle, Washington DC: crystal clear on satellite.
  3. 2207 Seymour, Cleveland: crystal clear on satellite.
  4. Auburn Correctional Facility: crystal clear
  5. Amchitka Island, Alaska: Some parts appear to have different resolutions but none are blurred. Patchwork maps are very common in areas like this; satellite map coverage just gets crappier as you move towards the poles of the Earth.
  6. 5561 NE Ambleside, Seattle: crystal clear on satellite.
  7. 1026 York, Vallejo: crystal clear on satellite.
  8. 1554 Walnut Avenue, Antioch: crystal clear on satellite.
  9. 112 Ocean Avenue, Amityville: crystal clear on satellite.

Also confirming that all the USian locations from this source are currently unblurred. jp×g 03:13, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

When I access Google Maps it seems definitely not blurred. cyclopiaspeak! 15:55, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
