This article needs a clean up to return it back to being a 'list of correctional facilities'. Some of the sections seem very POV and add to much weight to the overall blurb about the facilities. Clarke43 (talk) 01:38, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've gone through and done some edits to try and reduce the amount of POV pushing in the article. It soon became obvious that the article had become a list of violent events at prisons, rather than a list of correctional facilities and was essentially WP:COATRACK. It still needs lots more work and some updates where prisons have closed - and what is happening with the building of the new prisons etc. Clarke43 (talk) 03:30, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

1.14.2017; The facts as listed in this article are out of date and, on the whole, woefully inaccurate. (Example; there are in fact only TWO youth facilities, and the one in Hawke's Bay is operational) Many citable resources are available online to bring the information up to date, such as from the Dept of Corrections own website. [1] I would even consider doing it myself, but for the fact I've never edited a wiki article and I'm entirely unsure of the proper way to do so. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.155.56.123 (talk) 09:40, 14 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

What about the former prison that is now a Hostel?

[edit]

http://www.jail.co.nz/art-history-christchurch.html Surely that can be added to former prisons. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brob (talkcontribs) 16:10, 3 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
