PeopleMover deaths and accidents should be under “List of incidents at Walt Disney World”

[edit]

On September 25, 2022 a man died on the PeopleMover ride at DisneyWorld. I googled this and the “Lists of Incidents at DisneyWorld” page came up and I saw the “Disney Transport” subsection. I saw incidents under bus, ferry boat, monorail etc but none under PeopleMover, which is transportation. I added the PeopleMover section to “Disney Transport” and added the death. The PeopleMover deaths and accidents logically needs to go under Disney Transport accidents and deaths since that’s literally what you classify a death on PeopleMover as. 2603:8000:502:3482:BCF6:9A35:774F:14F0 (talk) 21:28, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The incident is already listed under the "Magic Kingdom" section of this article. The PeopleMover is completely inside Magic Kingdom, with one entrance and exit point inside that park. None of the modes of transport in the "Disney Transport" section is wholly inside a specific park, on the other hand. – Epicgenius (talk) 22:23, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Monorail Door Incidents

[edit]

Could these be added to the Transport/Monorail section? I recall several incidents from a few years ago regarding WDW’s monorail doors that might be historically relevant, as they regard both guest mishaps and mechanical failures.

There was an incident on 1/9/18, when a door remained open on Monorail Red with the train in motion while transporting guests on the Epcot line. (Link to article, additional link, link with report on signage.) The incident led to (or possibly post-dates, according to articles linked) the addition of signage in the cars instructing passengers not to lean on the doors. A video of the train traveling with the door open was widely shared on social media at the time.

Another occurred on 11/14/18 when a door on Monorail Green fell off when, according to a Disney spokesperson, it was struck by a motorized scooter, while it was stationed for loading and unloading at the Grand Floridian Resort. The door was one on the opposite side that passengers enter and exit on the resort’s platform and became wedged between the tracks below the station. (Link to article that includes a photo of the fallen door in the tracks shortly after it occurred). No injuries were reported in either incident. Wrongful death suit

[edit]

Should we include the case of Kanokporn Tangsuan? It’s been gaining a good amount of traction 2600:100C:A20C:6C0F:B9A2:5B5E:BD98:BF73 (talk) 01:11, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
