Expanding the list

[edit]

I do not know whether the RSA publishes a list of Fellows, but the contents of the now-deleted Category:Fellows of the Royal Society of Arts can serve as a starting-point for expanding this list. -- Black Falcon (talk) 18:54, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The RSA says there are 27,000 Fellows. The list is therefore "Some Fellows of the RSA". Marshall46 (talk) 12:19, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Userbox

[edit]

Is there a Wikipedia userbox for Fellows of the RSA? If not, would it be a Good Thing to knock one up? — Cheers, Steelpillow (Talk) 23:04, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Delete this list?

[edit]

I am concerned that this list is not suited to Wikipedia:

  • Wikipedia is not about detailed lists of people or services - see WP:NOTDIRECTORY
  • Either the list is already in the public domain, in which case a simple link to it will suffice, or it is not, in which case posting it here is Original Research and not allowed - see WP:NOR
  • Many FRSAs' might not appreciate being listed here - and what possible benefit would a list of 27,000 individuals bring to Wikipedia? - see WP:BADIDEA

There is not even a case for a list of Fellows who have bios on Wikipedia - the previous Category set up for this purpose has been deleted - see Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2011_February_3#Category:Fellows_of_the_Royal_Society_of_Arts

Does anybody have anything to say in its defence before I propose this article's deletion? — Cheers, Steelpillow (Talk) 11:46, 13 August 2011 (UTC) Updated: link to Category discussion — Cheers, Steelpillow (Talk) 11:51, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Addition to the list

[edit]

Hi, Stephen Hawking's page describes him being a fellow, so he could be added to the list. If the previous article for deleting this page is not applied ofcourse. 94.227.103.155 (talk)< —Preceding undated comment added 09:52, 6 April 2012 (UTC).[reply]

I'm adding Steve Baker to the list of fellows.Storris - Storris (talk) 08:05, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Members without Wikipedia entry but still relevant

[edit]

Hi, I have added Marco Henry V. Neumüller Lord of Pishobury MBE because he is one of the very few members who is German. Hope that is ok. His bio is publicly available on the internet.--194.146.213.16 (talk) 14:58, 27 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

John Gamblin Gambo2014 (talk) 11:23, 22 October 2015 (UTC) Please include in list of Fellows of the Royal Society of Arts under 'G' as John Gamblin was elected in 2013 [1]11:23, 22 October 2015 (UTC)Gambo2014 (talk)John Gamblin FRSA[reply]

Do you have a reference for that please? Just providing "Royal Society of Arts" in ref tags, as you have done above, does not count. Thank you. -Lopifalko (talk) 13:04, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I thought that we had decided that we would not add red links to the list. If we have not decided that, can we please do so? Kiltpin (talk) 11:36, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Was anything finalised on this? My own suggestion would be to adhere strictly to 'no article = no listing' and removal of the red entries especially if only supported by a link to the very basic RSA profile. Thoughts? SagaciousPhil - Chat 08:18, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • As there has been no response or specific objections, I will remove all red link entries. Perhaps it might also be worthwhile including a short HTML comment to advise editors not to add entries unless an article already exists but I'll hold off on that meantime. Carl Edwin Lindgren ?

[edit]

Why is Carl Edwin Lindgren in this list? He is not particularly notable, has no article, not even a red link. Kiltpin (talk) 11:02, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Kiltpin;  Done!
