Protecting Power?

[edit]

Why a mention of Sweden being a protecting power for USA but no reference? Also, why special mention for US when 100s of countries have no embassy there?

Fact is, other embassies will give "protecting power" to other non-embassied citizens, such as the UK to Canadians, in emergency situations. There need be no special mention for US citizens as they are no more entitled to protection abroad than anyone else, and even if anyone believes they are - the fact is (at least in North Korea) quite the opposite. Respectively

[edit]

"U.S., Australian, and Canadian interests in North Korea are represented through Sweden and the United Kingdom, respectively." This sentence makes no sense. Which countries are represented through which countries? 'Respectively' really only works when you've got the same number of things. You can't use 'respectively' with a list of three things followed by a list of two things. 210.84.19.113 (talk) 04:46, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
