Rewording, reformatting, and new content

Magellanic83 and I have been editing this page for a class project. Our main goals were to 1) Fix inconsistent formatting 2) reword several passages that were either clunky, overly academic in language, or appeared to be too closely paraphrased from journal articles 3) Add new content such as notable exceptions. We have been doing this in Magellanic83's sandbox page. After the course is over soon, we will be submitting these edits. There is inconsistent referencing within the page and I propose to change the parenthetical referencing to short citation formatting.

Can someone please tell me what determines species density? Does a biom head toward greater species complexity, simplification, or stasis?

It seems that the greater the species density the greater the complexity of animal form (color, shape, behavior). Why is this the case?

How does this relate to entropy?

Is there a study done to note entropy and biodiversity? Is the potential for entropy guiding diversity in any way? This is linked to the "More energy hypothesis" since an increace in energy of a system leads to an increase of entropy, and in essense, variation probability. Hey folks, I've been tasked with making an article about "Elevational Gradients in Species Diversity". My group and I based a lot of our entry on this one, so we figured you'd be the best people to look over ours. This being our first wiki entry, we haven't yet finished working out the bibliography and whatnot, but otherwise we have the complete text. Let us know what you think!
