Does anybody here with a better knowledge of stone know just which type of Greenstone this kind of ax would be? I'm turning up nothing on Google. --Adamrush 13:06, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Mystyical association

[edit]

I noticed this statement in the article - "It has been suggested that the area itself may have had some mystical importance to its inhabitants". I haven't heard of this before and there's no mention of it my Lake District books. Can anyone confirm it? Pikemaster (talk) 22:41, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New material

[edit]

I have added much new text and images to show Pike of Stickle more clearly, as well as modern parallels, and evidence from elsewhere which show how axes were polished and sharpened. 86.158.178.49 (talk) 15:26, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
