Importance?

[edit]

I don't think this meets the criteria to be "top" importance so I suggest it is changed to "high". If you think "top" is right please explin why. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jzlcdh (talkcontribs) 16:22, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Move to National Forces (historical Turkish militia)

[edit]

On the English Wikipedia, article titles are written using the English language according to wikipedia naming conventions. It doesn't have a meaningless English translation. It is also very common in English language sources as well. Yet Kuva-yi Milliye seems to be written differently on various sources. So it is the right thing to use the English version. The Outsider (talk) 11:36, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Where is your consensus?Shadow4dark (talk) 06:32, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sometimes we use native name like Rajya Sabha Shadow4dark (talk) 08:02, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop removing the page without a consensus. Beshogur (talk) 17:16, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Move war

[edit]

@OutsiderKK and Beshogur: I ask both of you to step back a bit. The first move by OutsiderKK was a legitimate WP:Bold move. Likewise, the revert move by Beshogur was just as legitimate according to WP:BRD. But then this took off in an unpleasent direction. The second move by OutsiderKK, had all the hallmarks of being the start of a WP:Move war. No new arguments, just the same edit with the same edit summary. The second revert of Beshogur was not less problematic, since it was a cut and paste move, which is a no-no in Wikipedia. I guess the reason was that an ordinary move was no longer possible due to intervening edits. The result is that the article history and the talk page history now are connected to the redirect pages, not to the target pages. This mess can only be cleaned up by administrator intervention.

I will later today ask an administrator to put the article back to the pre-war version. Please refrain from making any more edits before the mess is sorted out. @OutsiderKK, please go to WP:RM to learn how you can try to create consensus for your suggested move. @Beshogur, you can use the time to prepare (policy-based) arguments for your view. --T*U (talk) 09:27, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Origins

[edit]

According to David Nicolle, they were actually bandits on western Anatolia who fought against the Ottoman Gendarme in 19th and 20th century, and Kuva-yi Milliye originated from these bandits. This could be mentioned.--Visnelma (talk) 18:53, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
