Kerry Emanuel book and presentation concerning Climate Change

[edit]

Hi,

I just wanted to say that Kerry Emanuel came to one of our local (Boston-area) churches to give a presentation on climate change. It was very interesting. The presentation clearly showed us what the predictions have been concerning the effects of climate change compared with what the actual results have been. So one sees neither the worst-case or best-case scenarios really jive with facts. Still, it the effects are occurring much, much more quickly than expected. Formerly scientists projected about 40-years time (around 2040) until the polar caps would melt significantly, yet this is happening even now. So they are not sure exactly what factors are coming into play to make this happen so quickly.

He also asked for questions and comments from us, his audience, and was able to answer us in a very articulate and down-to-earth manner. He also has a warm personality and was very easy to talk with him.

Moreover, his book, on same subject, was very interesting recap of the presentation. It's a small, easy-to-read book, written in a simple, very readable and clear style.

So I highly recommend his books and presentations to all who want to learn more about climate change.
