This article should not be speedy deleted as being recently created, having no relevant page history and duplicating an existing English Wikipedia topic, because... (Jailor (1938) is not the same as Jailor 1958. Both these films have similarities in that they were directed by the same director, Sohrab Modi, for the same production company, Minerva Movietone, twenty years apart. The story written by the same writers i.e. Kamal Amrohi and Ameer Haider, is also the same and would necessitate same genres and plot. Besides the main hero, Sohrab Modi, the casting is different as are the music composers, lyricists and songs.) --Kaayay (talk) 10:27, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

User:Dr. Blofeld My contention is that there are two films called Jailor, one made in 1938 by Sohrab Modi, as mentioned by Rajadhyaksha and Willemen (synopsis of story) and also mentioned here at IMDB. The second Jailor (1958) was also directed by Sohrab Modi mentioned here by Rajadhyaksha and Willemen and at IMDB, hence treating them as two distinct different films. Willemen and Rajadhyaksha also treat the two films seperately. Can you please check and let me know if both articles can stand individually? Thanks Kaayay (talk) 11:07, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Seems they are two different films looking at the cast. Seems he decided to remake the film 20 years later. Each should probably have a separate article.♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:19, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
