I am creating the page "Italians in Albania", that will deal with the Italians who moved to Albania since the Middle Ages until our times. And not only for 20 years of fascism as has happened in Albania with the Mussolini's italian colonists, who embraced the Italian irredentism of this dictator.--Esauster (talk) 18:05, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Drmies I actually agree with Esauster on this. The Italian presence in Albania does not simply reduce to Mussolini's colonists-- implying it does is actually a bit hateful. The most recent thing was an undiscussed move, and removal of material, some of which having been added by editors not yet in this thread. We should probably have a larger discussion on this and leave a message on WP:ITALY and WP:ALBANIA, perhaps? --Calthinus (talk) 18:47, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
IMO this article should be left as it is and an Italians in Albania article covering the presence of Italian people in Albania since the Middle Ages till today should be created. Ktrimi991 (talk) 18:52, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Calthinus I have nothing to say on the content (well, maybe a few things, but I'd have to sit down and think about them, and I'm not here to do the thinking), but this was about process: these moves were not only unannounced and undiscussed, but they also came ex nihilo from a brand-new editor in an area covered by discretionary sanctions. On top of that there was a copy-paste job done in all the wrong ways--see Wikipedia:Copying_text_from_other_sources#How_about_copying_from_one_Wikipedia_article_to_another?. And really, if I understand it correctly, they were both forking, moving, and renaming all at the same time: that's too much.

So yes, y'all should talk this over, and whatever is to be done should be outlined clearly so everyone is on the same page and there is no problem with article histories etc. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 21:50, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Drmies All good-- it was good of you and Galobbter to revert because Italian colonists are also separate from Italian irredentism in Albania (which may or may not be notable). And I agree.--Calthinus (talk) 21:53, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Galobtter, you re-moved something; you should be in this conversation as well. I know you basically undid a move and cited a procedural argument, but you may have something to say about content also. The more the merrier. Drmies (talk) 21:54, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the ping; my essential comment on content is that tacking on a sentence not about Italian colonists in Albania doesn't dramatically change the scope of the article; an article on general presence of Italians in Albania should be separate from this, and I agree with the above that reducing the history of Italians in Albania down to Mussolini could be a bit controversial Galobtter (pingó mió) 07:23, 12 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
