Some info regarding the eligibility for the test

[edit]

Hey everybody I just wanted to know if both graduate and postgraduate students have to appear for the test. I also suggest it should be added to the main article. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.96.99.192 (talk) osigned by SineBot-->

Axe to grind?

[edit]

Your use of the word "Paki" to describe people from Pakistan pretty much undermines any points you have to make as does your spelling of "farse" (farce).

Bad form

[edit]

Those who contend that an English examination is a form of social engineering are intent on practising a form of social engineering of their own. If a person's life is "blighted" because he or she does not have this particular skill, it is hardly the fault of the test. Should the test authorities lower their standards to accommodate this person? As for the nonsense about the questions using poor grammar...just because someone writes this drivel does not make it true.

Is anyone aware of how I can get information about IELTS and IELTS testing centers in a range of countries, like China, Indonesia, Russia, etc.?

Make a controversy section

[edit]

IeLTS has been widely criticised as being a racist money-sucking neo-colonialist test. Too lazy to find reliable sources for now which is why I'm leaving this here. It is not a test for "non-native" english speakers, whatever that even means, it is a test for people from non-english speaking countries (defined by the whites arbitrarily, only recognizing varieties of english as "proper" when spoken by people that look like them). Several countries they consider mandatory to take the test already uses english as a main lingua franca, teaches in english for many years of education, and whose people have been shoved down their throats the language since childhood.

The 2 year expiration date is a deliberate strategy to leech off the Global South for more money. Do you think someone forgets how to speak english in 2 years in such an anglocentric globalized world? US$250 is ALOT for most people in the world. Fuck england. Columbia University 8.5 Band score requirement?

[edit]

I remember reading about Columbia University’s 8.5 band score requirement for, I believe, Journalism school, in around March 2023. I don’t see it now, and I don’t see it in the page edits. The citation source is also not working. Can anyone clarify? 196.129.58.22 (talk) 14:57, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
