Dear colleagues,

Thank you for your time and your willingness to provide guidance in discussing and improving the quality of this article. Indeed, I am new to Wikipedia, so your help is very much appreciated. I agree that International Building Performance Simulation Association has/had some issues with notability. In an attempt to fix these issues, I have made a number of edits with the Wikipedia:Notability_(organizations_and_companies) guidelines in mind.

To summarize, I believe that IBPSA has sufficient notability to justify an individual wiki article, and I would say that with the recent edits this is now also reflected on the wiki page, because:

  • The article makes reference to several third-party information sources.
  • IBPSA is truly international in scale. The network has over 4,700 members worldwide, and organizes many regional as well as global events. (I do understand that the number of members in itself is not enough for justifying a Wiki page, but it nevertheless gives an indication of notability)
  • I have used the pages of similar organizations as a template for this article. In my opinion, the IBPSA articles has an equal level of notability as e.g. International Solar Energy Society, ASHRAE and European Wind Energy Association. Please let me know if you know other good templates that could act as a model for this article.
  • The IBPSA article is already well-integrated in the Wikipedia network. Several incoming links already refer to this page, and I'm sure the the number will grow in the near future. I will actively work on this integration in the next couple of days.

Of course, this is only the first generation of this article, and there is ample scope for improvement in future iterations (one of these steps is to create a separate entry for 'building performance simulation'). What do you think, does this form enough basis for removing the 'proposed for deletion' tag? Thank you.

If you feel that the reason in the Proposed Deletion tag has been addressed or is invalid, you can remove it yourself without seeking comment(unlike a Speedy Deletion tag which you cannot remove from an article you created). The only suggestion I might have is that you remove the links to all the affiliates as articles are not directories of links. 331dot (talk) 11:47, 17 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
