Proposed merge with pentastarch

[edit]

Hydroxyethyl redirects to ethanol. Should it not redirect to Hydroxyethyl starch? Greswik (talk) 13:05, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality of reference unclear

[edit]

^ Zander R, Boldt J, Engelmann L, Mertzlufft F, Sirtl C, Stuttmann R (January 2007). "[The design of the VISEP trial. Critical appraisal"] (in German). Anaesthesist 56 (1): 71–7. doi:10.1007/s00101-006-1122-4. PMID 17192828. http://www.springerlink.com/content/q3053v24116050k2/.

This reference has two problems for English Wikipedia. First it is in German. Secondarily and more potentially important it appears to self refer to work by one of its authors, Boldt J who has had one paper retracted on HES due to both ethical problems and inability to relate the raw data to that actually published and many others retracted due to ethical problems. Cheers 91.84.69.219 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 01:23, 12 March 2011 (UTC). This reference should be deleted. As already Said ist references non Peer reviewed Data. One Author Joachim Boldt has been Fired from his Hospital due to fraud. 88 of his Papers have been retracted as no ethics Approval.Furthermore, the Autors of visep hav Published a Debütalbum to this, also in German, which is Not Cited. Brunkhorst !Anästhesist 2008. Also the follow up studies like 6s ,Chest prove, that the Arguments in this Article are invalid — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.226.91.201 (talk) 20:49, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Safety info comparison

[edit]

Maybe interesting for incorporating safety info into the article: Wiedermann, Christian J, and Klaus Eisendle. "Comparison of Hydroxyethyl Starch Regulatory Summaries From the Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicines Agency." Journal of Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice 10, no. 1 (2017): doi:10.1186/s40545-016-0090-6 (For instance, should liver also be mentioned?)
