Lead section and notability

[edit]

Why is this event notable? The first sentence of an article's lead section should set out its subject's claim to notability, while the whole lead section should summarize the article. However, the existing lead section does nothing of the sort. One is left to read between the lines that a hoax bombing attempt was made at the Houben centre by threatening the driver of a van to deliver what was apparently a bomb there, while a notable British politician was present. The incident was reported to the Police and the surrounding area evacuated, not because a threat was made against the centre, but because a suspected bomb was put there because a driver was kidnapped and threatened. The lead section needs to be totally rewritten and perhaps the article needs to move to a better title, like Houben centre bombing hoax or similar. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 08:27, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
