Locking article?
[edit]69.217.132.90 had recently done false revisions to make the article match the popular memes going around. Should this article be locked until the fuss dies down? Opalview (talk) 22:24, 26 July 2024 (UTC)

Author name
[edit]Why is the author cited as JD Vance and not J.D.Vance or his full name as that's what's on the book covers 109.81.94.220 (talk) 13:06, 29 July 2024 (UTC)
- Fair point. Perhaps a solution might be to amend the article to state that the author of the book is James David Vance. There's a Wikipedia redirect in place for the full name to the Wikipedia bio article, under JD Vance, so the Wikipedia connection will still be active. 202.86.32.122 (talk) 01:24, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
Error on “Hillbilly Elegy” page
[edit]“ Vance was born and raised in Middletown, where his mother and her family had moved”. Actually his maternal grandparents moved to Ohio before his mother was born. 93.66.125.241 (talk) 16:19, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
How is this entire book treated as fact?
[edit]Are we just completely looking past the fact that people misremember or flat out lie about things like, all the time. Has anybody done any fact checking here? 2604:3D09:D78:1000:3719:5595:7103:9742 (talk) 21:06, 10 August 2024 (UTC)
Renewed attention
[edit]This attention is massively undue weight, considering it's all about something not in the book. Perhaps prune everything except the first and last sentences. StAnselm (talk) 00:00, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
