reference and ambiguity

I have no idea how to fix the reference (in the third paragraph in Origins).

Also, when I think "East Coast" (mentioned at the end of Preparation), especially capitalized like that, I think of the US. The rest of the article refers to Venezuela, though. It is a bit ambiguous.

And what's with everything I wrote getting lumped into one paragraph? It is easier to read in paragraphs.
