Why baritone?

[edit]

Why is the article named after the type of singing voice rather than just write "singer"? Fr.dror (talk) 05:57, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Because there are other singers of the same name who have articles. See George Baker. -- Ssilvers (talk) 07:11, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I reviewed the recent changes and retained useful info. I reversed three other major cnanges:

  • I removed the proposed infobox. Most articles in the scope of the Gilbert and Sullivan project do not have them, and I don't think that one added anything, besides having the other disadvantages of infoboxes (lack of nuance, repetition, focus on trivia, etc.) that I can detail if anyone wants to read them.
  • It was proposed to move the G&S stuff into the center of the article. I am happy to talk about that, though my instinct is that it makes the biographical stuff harder to follow.
  • The totally redundant publications section. His publications are not that important to his life and career, and they are fully listed above.

You've basically just reversed the article back to your version prior to my improvements, including re-installing an inferior image. This is obviously your pet project and, to be honest, I can't be bothered taking you up on your dubious justifications for the reversals. It's all yours. I prefer to deal with editors who engage collaboratively. By the way, you have an issue with a named reference (gammond) to deal with. Ikeshut2 (talk) 19:36, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, I accepted most of your changes, expressed my objections to some others, and invited you to discuss the others that you proposed. See WP:BRD. I've just added the image that you uploaded. It is you who is reluctant to engage collaboratively. Feel free to discuss the purpose of your other edits here. -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:51, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
