Delisted from NRHP

[edit]

Since Vegaswikian1 has seen fit to revert my edit noting this property has been delisted, perhaps s/he would like to explain why such an announcement that was made in 1987 (PDF page 123) is not significant. Magic♪piano 00:26, 14 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm. I suspect the issue may be with National Register of Historic Places listings in Anchorage, Alaska, which includes a delisted "Lathrop Building" at 801 W. 4th, which includes a link to this building. Magic♪piano 00:34, 14 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
801 was the Empress Building, which is indeed not listed anymore. It was #84000629. Acroterion (talk) 00:49, 14 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It was at one point a theater, and has apparently resumed that function: see here [1]. Acroterion (talk) 00:52, 14 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The delisted building may well be this one. I have corrected the Anchorage former listing list. Magic♪piano 00:53, 14 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I see that there were other changes that I accidentally deleted, I fixed that. From the discussion above, it appears that there are other issues. Being delisted does not mean the category should be removed. You could try and add a 'former' category, but that would likely get upmerged to the current category since consensus is that as a general rule we don't like former categories, Vegaswikian1 (talk) 01:04, 14 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

More info re 2022 redevelopment proposal

[edit]

I just added a paragraph about a proposal to redevelop almost the entire city block, including demolition of the city building. There may be more detail about the proposal in this further ADN article, but it's behind a paywall and I'm out of free articles for now. W.stanovsky (talk) 18:26, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
