Reverted Image

[edit]

I reverted one edit by User:CarolSpears. S/he is now a banned user and many of her edits are suspicious or odd. Especially, her/his choice of the "ants on wood" image. --UnneededAplomb (talk) 21:22, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New Edit

[edit]

I added information on the ants social aspects supported by citations. I also added some information about the size of the ants and their habitat in relation to humans. --Luxembourg96 (talk) 07:41, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Formica/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

I implore whoever first wrote this article, and anyone who's worked on it since, to please add verifiable sources; the information is well-written and seems sound, but it's of little use to the people who read it without citations. Seijihyouronka (talk) 08:09, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the content is well-written, but most of this content really belongs on the Formica_rufa_species_group page, because it is specific to wood ants, rather than here on the Formica page. The genus Formica is much broader than just wood ants. This page needs a substantial overhaul. Instead of detailed but unbalanced content on one part or a few parts of the Formica genus, this page should give an overview of the main subgroups within the Formica genus, directing the reader to their pages to learn more detail. Wood Ants I have similar ants as described. I’ve noticed wooden sawdust around kitchen & bathroom cabinets.Upon scanning it identifies “Formic 2600:1700:30D0:6440:C9A4:E79F:92FC:6D16 (talk) 17:57, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
