Who are Fenchel and Moreau

[edit]

One thing still missing from the article is anything about who Fenchel and Moreau are. Jean Jacques Moreau? Charles Paul Narcisse Moreau? Pierre Moreau, the 18th-century mathematician, astronomer, and biologist? Some other? Werner Fenchel? Kate Sperling Fenchel? Someone else? Michael Hardy (talk) 23:45, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I believe it is named after Werner Fenchel and Jean Jacques Moreau, but I do not have a reference for that. Zfeinst (talk) 00:40, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't the double dual naturally defined on the double conjugate?

[edit]

I was wondering: the theorem states conditions under which . But is defined on Hausdorff and locally convex, which needs not to be reflexive. Wouldn't it be more precise writing: (with the natural embedding in the double dual)? Roddik (talk) 23:53, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
