Feit-Thompson theorem

[edit]

According to https://mathoverflow.net/questions/281043/feit-thompson-conjecture it is no longer true that a solution of the conjecture would reduce the length of the proof of the Feit-Thompson theorem. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:638:1558:F064:82FA:5BFF:FE15:2B0 (talk) 06:53, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

N.M. Stephens' first name

[edit]

The article by Stephens is cited here with his first name as Nelson. Can that be corroborated? The original source work cites him (or her?) as N.M. Stephens. I can find no corroboration on the web that he is indeed Nelson. --Matt Westwood 20:40, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Conjecture proved ?

[edit]

Reportedly, the conjecture was proved by Kaoru Motose, however the only info I could find is this conference abstract (page 33). Does anybody have more information about this ? GreenKeeper17 (talk) 14:45, 24 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
