Total Drivin (PS1)

[edit]

Although it can be found on lists of Platinum games, this probably comes from a 1999 demo disc Official PlayStation Magazine (UK no 48) that had a "Total Drivin Platinum" demo. This may have just been a mistake or to fill up the disc with an old demo (they also list "Command and Conquer Red Alert Platinum" but the actual demo is the original C&C game). It also obviously could have been planned and cancelled for some reason - possibly due to Infogrames having dropped the Ocean name by then? Either way, no evidence of a Platinum version of the game seems to exist so I have removed it. Obviously if any copies ever do come to light, it can be re-added but it seems unlikely.--Retro junkie (talk) 14:09, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Assassin's Creed is at the wrong place

[edit]

It wasn't released on PlayStation (1), only on PlayStation 3. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.159.198.80 (talk) 17:18, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

UK and Europe

[edit]

Don't mean to be fussy but why are the UK, Ireland and continental Europe listed as such rather than as "Europe" or "the EU?" It seems analagous to saying "The continental USA and Hawaii." 94.192.241.108 (talk) 09:38, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hardcore fan assumption

[edit]

We can't assert what a hardcore fan is, since it is more of an opinion. Therefore how can we assert the claim that people who buy platinum games are not hardcore fans? This is an encyclopedia, not a forum. Therefore I am removing the line until we can find a solution. Remember, a claim like that would not be accepted in one of the more "serious" articles.80.195.94.103 19:38, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lists

[edit]

Appear far from completion, if they only include a sample, is the list worth keeping? Rdog 19:44, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GTA: San Andreas

[edit]

I know for a fact that this was included in the platinum range as I own the platinum version of it. After all, it was (and still is) the top selling PS2 game of all time.

Also, is it worth mentioning that the games' platinum versions saved game data in a different format to their original releases? 86.131.14.185 18:46, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I know why: Because the Black one was banned (it contained Hot Coffee which was rated AO). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Worldaz (talkcontribs) 12:09, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

{{editsemiprotected}} Tekken 6 for PlayStation 3 is now Platinum, too. So, the list of platinum PS3 titles should be updated with Tekken 6.
