More recent image

[edit]

I agree with teevee and KRM, as the higher quality image should be used. That is all I am putting in right now, as I have homework to complete. MatthewDaigneau

I replaced the main image in this article with a more recent and a MUCH higher quality image of Erik Karlsson. User ChakaKong took an issue with that and removed the image with a comment "completely unnecessary". I tried writing on his talk page, but his stance is this: "I don't think the image needed to be replaced. Particularly with an image in a non-Senators uniform."

The current image is this:

I propose to replace it with any of these:

In addition to being of much higher quality, the current image is over 2.5 years old and the ones I'm proposing were taken today. How should we proceed? teevee (talk) 23:34, 17 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

First off, thank you for taking this to the talk page instead of opting for an edit war. My stance is simply that a perfectly congruous image was already in place. Secondly, and this is the important part, I don't feel the article is improved by adding a photo to the infobox of Karlsson in a Jokerit uniform. He plays for the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League and is only temporarily with Jokerit during the lockout. It seems most appropriate, to me at least, to keep the photo in the Ottawa uniform as the article's main photo. ChakaKongtalk 03:41, 18 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
All the images of Karlsson in Ottawa unis are of very poor quality. The point of the image in the infobox is to identify him, not which team he's currently playing for. —KRM (Communicate!) 19:56, 18 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
ChakaKong is right, in my opinion. An image of a player with his current team is preferable for the infobox unless the image is very old, which in this case it is not, or the quality is very poor such as if the player is unrecognizable and the replacement image offers a significant upgrade. That does not appear to be the case here. Pens Through My Lens (talk) 01:59, 29 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, an older Sens image is more appropriate than a recent Jokerit picture. Permafrost46 (talk) 20:20, 29 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Bolding league leading assists

[edit]

@Sabbatino: @Richard1990: A brief survey of richard trophy winners shows no consistency on this issue, Corey Perry Pavel Bure Jarome Iginla have highlighting, while Jonathan Cheechoo Vicent Lecavalier Steven Stamkos Sidney Crosby do not. Doe anyone know a place where this issue is discussed more generally? If bolding is not going to be done the comment about league leading being bolded should be removed. Discussions like this usually take place at WT:HOCKEY. – Sabbatino (talk) 16:18, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I have added a discussion on that talk page. bio=yes/Archive68#Bolding a player's statistic if he led the league that season.--Richardtalk 02:00, 2 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

2016 World Cup Hockey

[edit]

Before I add anything, is there a reason why his stats for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey were never added? HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 00:27, 19 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
