The result of the move request was: moved. Nominator has demonstrated that the proposed move will improve the accuracy of the titles, and has addressed the one point of opposition by providing sources to explain the change. As suggested late in the discussion, the article originally titled Egyptian League Cup is moved to EFA League Cup; thus, this move essentially results in these two articles switching titles. – The competition, currently known on Wikipedia as the EFA League Cup, is in fact not organized by the Egyptian Football Association, but by the Egyptian Professional Football Clubs Association. The current title is wrong, as the only cup competition organized in Egypt by the EFA is the Egypt Cup; the main football cup competition in the country. All sources in the article confirms what I'm saying, with only the first cited source by Al-Ahram referring to the competition as the EFA League Cup. I believe that the name I proposed is the best for the article.

For the other competition, which is currently tilted Egyptian League Cup, I'm not sure which is the best possible title, but I'm sure there are better alternatives. Relisting comment: There may be consensus for moving this to Egyptian League Cup, but we need a title for the current article at Egyptian League Cup, or at least some disambiguation. Skarmory (talk • contribs) 09:43, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
After thinking about it again, maybe merging both articles would be a better option. The article currently named Egyptian League Cup doesn't have a lot of content, so we can merge it with EFA League Cup and add its details in one of the sections. For example, create a History section, and write something like:
"The first edition of the tournament was held in 2000, organized by the Egyptian Football Association, where all 14 teams participating in the 1999–2000 Egyptian Premier League were allowed to take part in the competition without national team players during the international break, except Al Ahly, Al Ittihad and El Mansoura, who all refused to enter the tournament. El Qanah won the cup after defeating Dina Farms 1–0 in the final. After that edition, the EFA decided against continuing the competition, and it was abolished."
Then we can explain why the competition was abolished, and how the new one started. I can do that by myself, if this proposal is approved. Ben5218 (talk) 04:55, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thinking about it again, I believe a better option would be moving the content located at Egyptian League Cup (the competition organized by the EFA) to EFA League Cup, since that would make sense because the EFA were the organizers; while the content currently located at EFA League Cup should be moved the other way to Egyptian League Cup, as this is the current active competition in Egyptian football with this name, and also more notable than the old one. Sources also refer to it with this name, as I mentioned before above last month. Ben5218 (talk) 17:25, 4 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
