Contesting speedy deletion

[edit]

this article on Drakaina was still being edited, plus adding a link to her website was legitimate and not plain advertizing : She is the only one of her kind in France and a good example of what a Fantasy art Model is. She isn't selling anything per say, just sharing her passion for fantasy art with artists , who beside commission work collaborate with her on a free basis (she doesn't get paid to be a muse..) Please tell me what you feel i need to change or how i should rewrite my article Thank you --Halifax Agent 18:50, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Halifax Agent, I suggest you review WP:BIO to see if Drakaina fits the requirements to have her own article on Wikipedia. You've made several claims, that she's one of her kind in France and a good example of a fantasy art model. However, this information needs to be secondary (not straight from your mouth, basically) by citing reliable sources so other editors can verify your claims. I suggest looking at article of notable celebrities, such as Jake Gyllenhaal, to see how an article can be written with a neutral point of view. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and I'll help out. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 18:56, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Erik, how are you doing today? I redid the Drakaina page, is it better now? Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards--Halifax Agent 18:44, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's definitely an improvement from before. However, you might have an issue with using the picture. Please review Wikipedia's fair use policy. Also, your red links mean that there is no article behind the word or words, so you might either have them wrong, or it's not necessary to link them. I'll de-link some of the more unnecessary ones. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 18:50, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you :)I'll de-link some of them now. Regarding the picture which one are we talking about? The one from the Outlander set or the other one?--Halifax Agent 18:52, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The one that's displayed in her article. Click on the picture and read the "speedy deletion" warning that's on the image page. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 18:59, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you I replaced it with a {{Promophoto}} which is what i should have done in the first place.. Have a good evening--Halifax Agent 19:19, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Other uses of the name

[edit]

I came to this page looking for an article on the mythical creature. In Greek mythology, a "drakaina", while literally just being the feminine form of "drakon" (dragon or serpent), is a beast combining serpentine/draconic body parts with those of a woman. Examples include Campe and Echidna.

If I, or someone else, were to create a page on the mythical creature, what should it be called? Drakaina (mythology)? This, not the model, is the older use of the name, so really it should be Drakaina and this page should be at Drakaina (person) or Drakaina (model).

What do you think? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vultur (talkcontribs) 18:17, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As this has not been commented on for over 2 years perhaps I should bring it up on an appropriate WikiProject. Vultur (talk) 12:41, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
