Requested move 10 October 2024

[edit]

– Donald Marshall the hockey player has sadly passed away. The Canadian Press (republished by TSN, The Hamilton Spectator, The Waterloo Region Record, and The Times Colonist), as well as the Canadiens themselves, seem to have Donnie as his common-use nickname - I can't find any sources using "Don." This would also allow the actor's page to be moved simply to "Don Marshall", without a disambiguator. The current Donnie R. Marshall has the middle initial as a differentiator - we can use a hatnote for those who end up in the wrong spot. The Kip (contribs) 19:44, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for my lack of experience and expertise on this, but... One of the sentences in the article on the late Mr. Marshall is erroneous. As per the online NHL record book, and a hockey-reference game summary, Marshall did not set an NHL record for fastest goal from the start of a period. His teammate Claude Provost did. Marshall did score later in that game. The note about the two other player later tying that record is correct, but that part belongs on Provost's page, not Marshall's. I am not sure if I should simply delete that sentence or what, as I've never done this before (I have corrected numerous typos and sloppy wording, but have never performed "major surgery"). So...help? Ontario54 (talk) 22:21, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
