Year 1 Coaching Record

[edit]

I'm confused as to how the stats are place on Bylsma's coaching record. Surely Michel Therrien's points don't carry over into Bylsma's coaching career, and the points percentage shouldn't reflect that. I'd like someone more qualified to edit this, but if nothing happens over time, I will do it myself. Cornhusker1225 (talk) 15:15, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bylsma name

[edit]

Is Dan Dutch or Frisian? Bylsma is an awfully Dutch, and particularly Frisian, name. Him being from Grand Haven in West Michigan would seem to point toward to him being of that ancestary. --Criticalthinker (talk) 03:36, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't remember where the Dutch comes in, but you are correct, it is definitely a Dutch name. I used to go to church with Dan's family as a kid. His father Jay is part (mostly?) Navajo. While playing hockey for the Coyotes, Dan would come back during the off-season and play softball with the church team. He is a real down-to-earth guy. ~ C.
