Editing Page

I have taken on the task of editing this page. I have to stop for now. If another wants to take up the task, feel free. I will be back to finish in about 15 hours.Jacqke (talk) 07:43, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

@Jacqke: – Where did you get the idea in this edit that the source you titled and dated (archived here) was the 1935 Spokane Daily Chronicle? Seems like nonsense to me. And what's the deal with the {{AUTHOR MISSING}} tag? Couldn't you have just looked it up? Wbm1058 (talk) 18:52, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
Hmm, this 03:39, 30 December 2011 edit gives me some insight. That one really is a Spokane Daily Chronicle story from 1935, as archived on Google. Seems you must have been using an editing tool that "remembered" that data when you made your later 07:41, 2 January 2012 edit. I'd be interested in learning what that tool was. I really want to know what citation tool is adding |last={{err|{{AUTHOR MISSING}}}} to references. A lot of these I solve by replacing that non-error "error" with |author=<!--Staff writer(s); no by-line.-->, so it is causing some bother. – Wbm1058 (talk) 03:13, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
Found it. This diff identifies Wikipedia:Cite4Wiki as the tool that makes the {{AUTHOR MISSING}} errors. – Wbm1058 (talk) 05:09, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
