Christopher Hoban is a New York City police officer who was killed in the line of duty. His death was shocking to NYC. As a result 12,000 police officers and 8000 civilians showed up to mourn him. It's more than 25 years later and people are still mourning his and another officer who were killed senselessly by drug dealers in NYC. This may be true but Wikipedia is not intended to host memorials to people. That is why in my recent copyediting I restructured some of the article, reducing the detailed list of rather repetitive memorial events such that they were presented as a summary.
Might I also add that article talk pages are intended for discussion of improvements to articles, not repositories for comments such as yours, well-intentioned although I am sure it was. - Sitush (talk) 00:42, 27 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
