Tiebreakers for FIBA 2006 World Championships

[edit]

I would like to know exactly what the tiebreakers are for the Fiba World Championships. Wikipedia has referred to China finishing 15th, but most other sites say it finished 11th. How does the person who edited the Wikipedia rankings know? Is there a link to the tiebreakers used in these situations? Hanuab 14:10, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Chinese National Basketball Team roster

[edit]

Is the "nationality" column of the players' roster really necessary? It is the Chinese National Basketball Team, after all! Having the national flags in the coaches section makes sense, as one coach hails from Lithuania and the other from China. But given that all the players are from the People's Republic of China, well … —MicahBrwn (talk) 00:02, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Names

[edit]

Why are the names in the roster list in the "Firstname/given name, Surname/lastname" format? Chinese names are already in "Surname Firstname" format, so why not just display it like that? For example, the article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China_national_football_team already has names in that format

So Yao Ming would just be listed "Yao Ming" instead of "Ming, Yao" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.62.166.208 (talk) 02:10, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

2011 Roster

[edit]

What about China's sole remaining NBA player Yi Jianlian (212-F/C-87)? Why is he not on the list? China really needs him to claim back their Asian title. This year's Asian Championship will be a tough assignment for China. Iran, Lebanon and South Korea all post serious threats to the Hosts. 202.81.69.137 (talk) 02:30, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

China used too many old players, that's why they failed to impress in London. For Rio, what they need to do is release their useless coach, dump Wang ZZ, Liu, Zhu and Wang SP and start using new generation of players like Chen, Guo, Zhou, Ding and Zhang. 101.112.133.48 (talk) 07:41, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
