I worked at Charvel's one summer in the early '70s The shop was off Gladstone between the tracks and Lone Hill ave. I'm pretty sure that's in San Dimas. Why Grover or Wayne say its not is a mystery to me. Mark McKee, Karl Sandoval worked there too.70.170.78.92 03:43, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

David Gilmour's Stratocasters

[edit]

Have added David Gilmour to the list of Charvel players as his main Fender Stratocaster, The Black Strat, and his Olympic White Stratocaster, the 0001 Stratocaster, have been fitted with Charvel necks with Fender logos.

Wayne Charvel and misinformation

[edit]

Could we possible make some corrections to the verbiage used in the article?

  1. Right from the first line, the article needs corrected, or at least clarified. Charvel is a brand of guitars. But it wasn't founded by Wayne Charvel. Wayne (using first name to avoid name confusion) owned a repair shop. There were no Charvel Guitars until after Wayne was gone, there were no Charvel Guitars made at his repair shop in Azusa. The only association that Wayne (or his son) have with Charvel Guitars is the word 'Charvel" - Grover Jackson felt the word Charvel had enough name recognition that he used it when he started building guitars. I mean, good thing his name wasn't Martin. Right? If it was, he'd have no claim at all - because Charvel would have been renamed to Glendora.

I know that we aren't doing historical documentaries here, but language cleanup couldn't hurt. I mean, associating Wayne with 'the company' is something Wayne does. The rest of the world should not. Snackmurat (talk) 12:22, 6 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
